The movement started quietly
What if women & nonbinary athletes were the main characters?
Welcome to the International Women’s Sports Film Festival, the first global festival dedicated entirely to their stories, told through bold documentaries and compelling narratives.
This inaugural event will celebrate and promote women’s achievements in sports by showcasing films, documentaries, and shorts from around the globe that spotlight the stories of women and nonbinary athletes, team, and the impact of these women in sports culture.

Founded in Portland Oregon, this festival is the vision of Jenny Nguyen, founder of The Sports Bra, the world’s first sports bar to televise only women’s sports. She’s joined by Molly King of QDoc and Kimiko Matsuda of The Idea Factory.
This festival aims to empower women, inspire young athletes, and raise awareness about gender equality in sport through the lens of cinema.
Our Vision
At the International Women’s Sports Film Festival, we envision a world where storytelling redefines representation in sport. IWSFF shines a light on the women shaping the future of sport and elevates their achievements, innovations, and experiences in global culture.
